Reflective Letter #1

Hi Marlen,

I am extremely nervous about this class still. I am just very overwhelmed with the workload. I spend hours at the library searching for sources and doing the blogs until i come out with a headache. I know that i can do it, but with my other classes right now i am very busy. I am also concernced that i am not doing the work to your standards. Although i get it completed on time (most of the time), i hope that it is acceptable. I know you said this class would be a lot of work, but i didn’t think it was going to be this much work. Usually teachers say stuff like that to scare you, but as i am finding out now you were serious.

Although, this class is very busy right now, it’s not too hard. A lot of the work just takes time. I have never been required to go this far into depth with research. I am glad that i took this class though. I plan on going to grad school, where i will thenbe rewarded. I have already found myself using these techniques. The other day i was trying to help my friend, who is a grad student, with her research. She didn’t know exactly what she was going to do. Although she is still unsure, i was spitting out ideas that i would never have thought of before, until this class.

Although it sucks right now (no offense), i think it will get better. I am just overwhelmed with school, because i have never had this much work to do with your class, and my other classes. I hope to become published, because i feel that you will build us up to that. I can’t wait until this part is over, and we can actually write the paper. I never thought i would be excited to write a paper, but now i am. I guess i never realized how much work and effort was put into these things.Iit gives me a greater appreciation of authors and researchers out there. It is definitly harder than it seems.
